Simple tasks like windows startup, running software applications,
watching videos or listening to music online, slow performance while
playing games or simply browsing a website could be a pain if it loads
really slow or hangs on.
These performance tips should work irrespective of a low or high configuration PC. We all want our windows to perform well.
I would like to share some simple hacks that will help to boost a
windows performance to make your computer run a little faster than
before.
Install windows in a separate drive and Leave it alone:
While installing windows for the first time, make sure to create a
separate drive allocated for OS. For example, assign the Drive C: for
windows installation. By default all the drivers and software
applications will be installed to the Operating System’s location.
Create other multiple drives for personal storage.
Install appropriate softwares based on firmware
If you are on 64 bit windows, always install software applications
that are built for 64 bit operating systems. A 32-bits program can be
installed onto a 64 bit windows, but it might not perform well in some
cases.
Uninstall or delete applications that you no longer need
Click the “Start”. Open “Control Panel.” Under Programs click
“Uninstall a program.” Choose the program you would like to delete.
Remove programs from startup
This tricks will rapid boost your computer’s performance. Use Windows’
built in tool, MSConfig. Click the Start Menu, go to Search or Run, type
“msconfig” Choose the “Startup” tab, and uncheck the boxes of the
programs you don’t want to run on startup. Note: If you do not recognize
a program on this list, do not remove it. Example, an antivirus
application needs to run on startup and should not be removed from
msconfig startup list.
Keep your Desktop Clean
Its not recommended to use huge file size images as a desktop
wallpaper. It literally eats away your PC’s memory. Also make sure to
organize and clean up shortcut icons from the desktop. I usually
maintain “Folders” to organize my icon’s or files.
Clean the registry
Over time, the windows Registry can become cluttered with missing or
broken items as you install, upgrade, and uninstall software and
updates. CCleaner can help you clean out the Registry so you’ll have
fewer errors. The Registry will run faster, too.
Do less Multitasking
If you love multitasking or running multiple applications at once you wont like this one

Applications such as Photoshop, Chrome, Flash players eat away lots of
memory and its always better to close the windows you are not using
currently. Trust me this will boost up and you will experience the speed
instantly.
Hardware?
If you have your computer build on low hardware configuration, but try
to install and run latest software applications that require and
recommend more RAM (Memory) or disk space.. The solution to this is “Its
time to upgrade your hardware and windows”
That’s all for now. I have few more application’s specific tweaks
that I plan to share soon. Please do comment/like/share this post if you
feel this could help some with improving their windows speed.
